Backstage Crew
The performers you see on stage are only the shop window to a huge effort by various groups of people who work to put a production on stage. We currently rent a small industrial unit in nearby Shepherds Grove Industial Estate, Stanton. This is used for set construction, design and painting.
The entire set is built and then taken apart ready for the 'get-in', usually the day before the dress rehearsal on a Sunday. The get in and technical rehearsal can be quite fraut but is nearly always as enjoyable as the performance itself.
The work done by our backstage crew is, like the performers they support, entirely voluntary and we are always completely grateful for the work that they do.
Publicity, Marketing and Poster Design also rate highly amongst the jobs that need to be done by our volunteers and a performance wouldn't be a performance if it wasn't costumed, lit, support by professional sound engineers and accomanied by professional musicians.
